“The Mystic’s Almanac is perfect for busy people who want depth. I remember the episodes–they come back to mind again and again through the week. They are (nourishing) fast food for the soul.”

~K. Luiten, Kauai, Hawaii

The Mystic’s Almanac is a 5-minute radio column that offers listeners inspiration to navigate their daily lives. The stories are gleaned from real-life experience. Rather than preaching or offering advice, these stories celebrate the wisdom embodied in the daily lives of ordinary people.

Stories have the power to move the heart while enlightening the mind. Judith Boice has the ear to hear these stories, from her own and others’ lives, and brings them to life in compelling tales for radio listeners. Like an almanac, the episodes cover a wide variety of topics, e.g. ending a marriage, recovering from cancer, walking with a holy man around a sacred mountain in India, and collecting heirloom seeds. Although some of the episodes play out against the backdrop of “exotic” locations, most are gleaned from the stuff of daily life, where all true mysteries reside.

The following are episodes of the Mystic's Almanac radio show.

These stories are powerful medicine for a transforming world. Please request that your local station air The Mystic’s Almanac.

The Mystic’s Almanac warms up our Sunday morning show with intriguing tales that dig deep into the beauty and wisdom inherent in people’s lives. Judith brings a poet’s touch to the miracle of everyday experience, as well as the significant passages in life-birth, life, death, and everything in between. Her personal storytelling embodies the true mystic as she travels through each episode. Our listeners look forward to hearing her inspirations each week, as do I.

We stop in the midst of our traditional Sunday morning pancake breakfast to turn up the radio volume and settle down to listen to Judith’s story for the day. Often we are left in tears or with lumps in the throat. The stories are about life, but with a twist of insight that might otherwise go unnoticed.
